Current & New Clients and Patients

The state of Pennsylvania recognizes that sometimes you just need some advice about your pet outside of business hours.  It isn't always clear what is a true emergency, where your pet needs to be seen as soon as possible, and what is safe to wait.  However, our state also establishes that it is important to have a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) in order for any diagnosing or prescribing to take place.  For any patient that has been seen within the year, there is a valid VCPR.  Sometimes, even with a VCPR in place, there are some medical issues that the doctor may feel it is best to see in-person before any recommendations are made.  This is always for the safety and well-being of the patient.

For new clients and pets who have never been seen before, and thus there is no VCPR established, we can still offer some help.  While the doctor is ethically and legally not permitted to provide you with a diagnosis or any prescriptions, she can give you some guidance on what you can do for your pet at home and whether you are dealing with an emergency and need to have your pet seen immediately.
